Sheffield City Council have asked us to find out what families with disabled children think about a proposal to develop an accessible holiday let at Thornbridge Outdoors. Thornbridge Outdoors is a council-owned outdoor pursuits facility in the Peak District National Park (near Bakewell).

The Council is proposing to use capital funding from the short breaks programme to make the accommodation at Thornbridge more accessible. Families with disabled children would be able to rent the accomodation (at a reasonable price) for the majority of weekends and Sheffield school holidays. For the rest of the time, it would be used to enable disabled children to join their classmates more easily on school residentials. Sheffield families would get priority but not exclusive use. Should the short breaks grants programme be run again, families would be able to use their grants to pay for the let.

You can view details of the proposals here: www.thornbridgeoutdoors.co.uk/short_breaks_holiday_let.php and complete a short online questionnaire here: https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/thornbridge
